The marketplace giant eBay continues to step away from its forays into Social Networking, now indicating it will shutter its “eBay Blogs” section on October 31, 2009.  The arrival of widely-available, free blog platforms and other social networks like Twitter and Facebook made the cost-cutting decision for eBay a simple one:  Let’s save the money – they do it better.

The quiet little message tag floats over the eBay Blogs, offering a link to the full closure announcement. Any content a blogger would like to save needs to be pulled off the site before the close date.
